LTE (4G) GNSS tracker for independent aircraft recovery
DaedaFind is an independent LTE/GNSS tracker designed to work in the worst-case scenario — a crash. Built around the A7672E LTE + GNSS radio module and an ESP32, it can send real-time location updates even when the drone's main power source is down. It responds to SMS queries with last-known position data, and will integrate with DaedaBuzz for remote buzzer activation via SMS.

This system is currently under active development and hardware validation. The PCB design is complete and prototypes are being assembled and tested. Specifications and features are subject to change.
The system is built around the A7672E module which provides both LTE (4G) cellular connectivity and GNSS satellite positioning in a single package. An onboard ESP32 handles the application logic, managing SMS communication and GPS data processing. The tracker waits for a specific SMS message and, upon receiving it, replies with its last known position — providing a reliable lifeline for locating downed aircraft.
DaedaFind is powered by a 2-cell 600 mAh battery, giving it approximately 2 hours of operation in high-rate mode with position updates every few seconds. In battery and data saver mode — sending updates only every couple of minutes — the system can run for several days after deployment, ensuring long-term trackability even in remote locations.
With a compact form factor of approximately 40 × 70 mm, DaedaFind is small enough to fit into any airframe. The large GPS antenna provides ±1 m accuracy in good conditions. Future integration with the DaedaBuzz system will enable remote buzzer activation through SMS, adding an audible recovery aid to the GPS tracking capability.
